Now granted I'm a little slow on the ball, but here it is. Halloween Day is the perfect day for this! I wasn't sure my kids would like these stories. Not knowing what they were to start with I was a bit concerned it might be too spooky for my youngest and even my 5 year old. He tends to be a bit melodramatic about things. So we watched these DVDs on the way home from the beach.
At first I thought the boys didn't really like them. It may have just been they were tired. They fell asleep pretty quickly after watching them. Like I said, we were stuck in the car for hours.
Since then they both have asked numerous times to watch these stories. The photo above is a still-frame from the spookiest story: Teeny-Tiny and the Witch Woman. That one didn't even bother my 5 year old. Both boys have enjoyed watching these several times over the last couple weeks. They particularly like Dem Bones.
Scholastic has done a fantastic job bringing these books to life. The animation is geared toward younger children. The stories are great for any kids and my husband and I enjoy watching them with our boys. The DVDs also have stories that are educational as well as fun. The music goes very well with the stories. If you have younger children who aren't ready yet for Scooby Doo or anything spookier, these stories would be a perfect addition to your library.
