Review:

I was given this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

I would give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.  There are a few editing mistakes, nothing major, and there are a few "adult" scenes as well.

I had a bit of difficulty getting into the story at first.  To me the characters start out a little shallow.  I am very glad I was able to continue reading as I really got into the story.

We're introduced to Meara on the day she makes the big mistake of succumbing to peer pressure.  We're also introduced to Aren who has been waiting for someone like Meara for quite a long time.  He's been keeping tabs on her for most of her life.  It's kinda creepy really.  I imagine that was what the author was trying to get across.  As Meara is led on a drinking binge, the first drinks of her life, Aren sees his chance and takes full advantage...

Meara is as straight-laced as they come.  We learn she has always followed her parents rules and with good reason.  They have paid her entire way through school.  She hasn't even had to have a job.  But she does have to earn straight As to keep in her parents good graces.  She is very intelligent, very logical, and mathematically minded.  Man does that all go out the window!

Once her parents find out Meara has broken their rules, and in a big way, they disown her.  They literally throw her out.  She is pregnant, has no job, no place to live, and no money.  She does have two very good friends though who help her out.  With them, she finds a place to live and a job.  Then she has her baby!

In the mean time you find out more about Aren and who he is, where he came from.  You also find out he's a werewolf.  He is one of the originals.  He's been waiting on someone like Meara because she carries the werewolf gene.  Apparently females with the gene are hard to come by.  And in the attempt to take Meara's baby, she gets tangled up with a werewolf and becomes one herself.  She manages to hang onto her baby at this point.

Then we see there are more werewolves around her than she ever thought possible.  She's also very unique as far as werewolves go.  She doesn't change immediately.  And she also retains her weight from being pregnant.  Werewolves have such a high metabolism they burn fat and gain muscle quickly.  When Meara finally does change, Aren sees his next chance to get his offspring away from her.  Things turn ugly real quick.  Meara finally finds out what she has become, why the changes she's seen in herself are there, and now she has to somehow get her baby back.

The story leads you through the ups and downs Meara faces.  Sometimes it is a little difficult to understand which character is "talking," but it becomes apparent fairly quickly.  I would definitely recommend this book.  The way it ends leaves you wanting to find out how everything turns out.  I can't wait for the next one!
